Usage data: We collect basic analytics such as pages visited, email open rates, and feature usage to improve the service.

Competitor data: We collect publicly available information about the competitors you choose to monitor, including pricing pages, job postings, product changelogs, reviews, and blog content. This data comes from public sources only.

How We Use Your Information

• To generate and deliver your competitive intelligence reports
• To process payments and manage your subscription
• To send transactional emails (reports, alerts, account notifications)
• To improve and optimize our service

What We Do Not Do

Third-Party Services

• Anthropic (Claude) — AI-powered analysis (your competitor data is processed but not retained by Anthropic per their API data policies)

Data Retention

We retain your account data and report history for the duration of your subscription plus 90 days. You may request deletion of your data at any time by emailing support@getrivalsignal.com.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (TLS), secure credential storage, and access controls. No system is 100% secure, but we take reasonable steps to protect your data.

These terms govern your use of the RivalSignal service operated by Clear Sky Innovations LLC. By subscribing, you agree to these terms.

The Service

RivalSignal provides automated competitive intelligence reports delivered via email. Reports are generated using AI analysis of publicly available data about your specified competitors. Reports are delivered weekly.

Subscriptions and Billing

• All plans include a 14-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial period.
• After the trial, your selected plan will be billed monthly via Stripe.
• You may cancel at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
• We do not offer refunds for partial months, but we will work with you if there are service issues.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use the service for lawful business purposes. You may not:

• Redistribute or resell reports to third parties
• Use the service to harass, defame, or harm competitors
• Attempt to reverse-engineer our analysis pipeline or AI prompts
• Provide false information during signup

Data Accuracy

Reports are based on publicly available data processed by AI. While we strive for accuracy, we do not guarantee that all information is complete, current, or error-free. Reports are intended as strategic input, not as the sole basis for business decisions. You should verify critical intelligence independently.

Intellectual Property

The RivalSignal service, brand, analysis methodology, and report templates are the property of Clear Sky Innovations LLC. Your reports are generated for your use and may be shared within your organization.

Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Clear Sky Innovations LLC shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the service. Our total liability shall not exceed the amount you paid for the service in the 12 months preceding the claim.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The service is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose or non-infringement.

Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Colorado, United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of Denver County, Colorado.

We may update these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email at least 30 days before taking effect. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance.
